were sampled and a slug test was performed on these wells,- .. see
Figures 3, 3B, 3C, Table 1 and Appendix A.
Also the ground water was sampled from all of the onsite
monitoring wells during the monitoring round conducted do November
21, 1990.
GROUND WATER MONITORING
A ground water monitoring round was conducted on November 21,
1940. During this visit, depth to ground water was measured and
samples were obtained from the six on site monitor wells for
chemical analysis. From this data, a ground water gradient map
was generated, Figures 4A and 4B. Figure ,4A uses the data
obtained from monitor well MW5 ' (slant'drilled;well) and produces
an anomalous ground water high on an relatively flat gradient at
that well. Figures 4B and 4C (11-27-90) do not use the data from
monitor well MW5 and show a relatively flat gradient flowing to
the southeast (from MW6 towards MW2) on November 21, 1990 and a
relatively flat gradient flowing to the south and southeast (from
MW4 towards MW2) on November 27, 1990. Historically this site has
shown flow directions to the southeast and east. The overall
ground water elevation beneath this site has showed a decline,
with the exception of the month of January, 1990, .which showed an
increase from 0.521 at monitor well MW2 to an increase of 1.331 at
monitor well MW4. Since the last ground water measurments taken
in September, 1990, the ground water has decreased in elevation
from 1.34 feet at MW2 to 0.67 feet at MW1, see Table 2.
CHEMICAL RESULTS-GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Ground water samples were obtained from all six on site monitor
wells on November 21, 1990 (MW-1, MW--2, MW-3, MW-4, MW5, and MW6) .
Prior to obtaining the ground water samples each well was purged
using a hand bailer, until the temperature, pH, and conductivity
stabilized, . approximately 2-3 gallons of water, see Appendix C.
This purged water is presently being stored on site it.-_ 17E 55'
gallon drums.
Ground water beneath this site has gasoline range contamination.
Only monitor wells MW1 and MW5 are above the detection limits for
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) , greater than 0.05 parts per
million (ppm) , with 2 ppm and 31 ppm respectively showing
significant increases from 0.1 ppm in monitor well MW1 and from 4
ppm--in-monitor-:well-MW5-on-August-24;- 1990. —Maritorwells-MW1,----- - -
MW2 and MW-5 tested above the detection limits for the Volatile
Aromatic Compounds of Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylenes
(BTEX) see Table 2 and Appendix B.
page. 3
