Imr,
The analysis of the vapor stream during the pilot test show that a
uncontrolled system would produce approximately a pound of benzene
a day. Due to the high vapor pressure of benzene, benzene is one
of the compounds that is most susceptible to vapor extraction and
thus would be diminished in its concentration in the vapor stream
as extraction goes on. With this in mind a emission controlled by
the above IR analyzer, which would control the amount of the vapor
stream produced from the extraction wells, would keep the
emissions at or below the allowable emissions already allocated
for this site.
If you have any questions, please call (916) 662-4641„
Sincerely yours,
I
` George Converse Jack E.
