UPDATE 28 8-02-94
JULY 12 , 1994 MODELING RESULTS - IMPACT TO GROUND WATER AT S1314
YEAR TPHg in DISSOLVED 02 TPHg mass/area
ground water delivered to water
mg/L mg/L grams/sq ft
background 6 0 0 . 0
10 <1 ug/L 7 05 1 4
20 <1 ug/L 5 83 8 6
30 <1 ug/L 4 11 17 4
40 <1 ug/L 3 91 23 4
50 <1 ug/L 1 84 26 2
60 <1 ug/L 1 38 26 5
70 ¢1 ug/L 1 79 25 5
80 <1 ug/L 2 36 23 7
90 <1 ug/L 3 07 21 6
100 <1 ug/L 3 22 19 5
Since the latest modeling (July 12, 1994) was performed an
additional 7 pounds of gasoline range hydrocarbons have been
removed (from July 12-July 21 , 1994) for a removal rate of
approximately 0 8 pounds per day
A sample of the influent vapor stream was submitted to AEN for
analysis and showed that Benzene, Toluene and Ethylbenzene are
below detection limits of 0 5 ug/L and Xylenes are at 5 ug/L
Total purgeable hydrocarbons as gasoline are at 300 ug/L
VAPOR EXTRACTION
Vapor Recovery Summary
The VES was turned off on December 30 , 1993 for evaluation of
site closure .
Confirmation soil sample borings were performed on February 2 ,
1994 Field screening of the samples obtained from these borings
indicated that some petroleum range hydrocarbons still existed in
the soil beneath the site Subsequently these borings were
converted into vapor recovery wells VSB13 , VSB14 and VSB15 The
VES was not turned on again until after completion of quarterly
ground water sampling on February 16, 1994 At that time MW5 ,
VSB13 , VS214 and VSB15 were connected to the VES manifold and the
system was restarted Samples of the VES obtained on February
21, 1994 indicated that only 1 65 pounds of hydrocarbons were
being removed by the VES per day From February 16 thru March
23 , 1994 an estimated 33 pounds of gasoline range had been
removed for a 0 9 pounds per day removal rate, and presently
(March 23-July 21, 1994) 97 pounds have been removed for a 0 8
pound per day removal rate (97 lbs/120 days) Total gasoline
range hydrocarbons removed through July 21, 1994 by vapor
extraction are 18 , 322 pounds or 2931 5 gallons, see Table 3 and
Figures 5A, 52. and 5C
page6
