SEC ® R <br /> Mr Mike Infurna <br /> March 8, 2005 <br /> Page 6 <br /> benzene, and 32 lbs of MtBE were removed during the fourth quarter 2004 An estimated 23,812 lbs <br /> of TPHg, 102 lbs of benzene, and 1,868 lbs of MtBE have been removed since remediation was <br /> initiated at the site <br /> Groundwater Extraction System <br /> The GWE portion of the system is comprised of submersible pumps installed in wells EW-1 and EW- <br /> 6 and "slurp" tubes installed in wells MW-4 and EW-7 which are connected to an airstripper and <br /> three 2,000 lbs granular activated carbon vessels Offsite extraction well EW-7 was connected to the <br /> system and brought online in June 2004 During the fourth quarter 2004, the GWE system pumped <br /> and treated approximately 210,300 gallons of groundwater, removing approximately 1 9 lbs of TPHg, <br /> 0 05 lbs of benzene, and 2 7 lbs of MtBE An estimated 111 4 lbs of TPHg, 4 00 lbs of benzene, and <br /> 138 1 lbs of MtBE have been removed by GWE since the remedial system began operating at the <br /> site <br /> Groundwater Batch Extraction <br /> Currently offsite extraction wells EW-2, EW-3, EW-4, and EW-5 are pumped on a weekly basis, and <br /> the water is treated through the on-site GWE system Thirteen batch extraction events were conducted <br /> . during the fourth quarter 2004, which resulted in the removal of 13,150 gallons from the off-site <br /> extraction wells <br /> Future Remedial Expansion at the ARCO Service Station <br /> SJSEHD has approved the installation of an ozone sparge system with a barrier of wells installed in <br /> the sidewalk on the north side of Harding Way The ozone barrier will inhibit the migration of <br /> hydrocarbons down gradient, and stimulate bioattenuation Weekly batch extraction events from <br /> wells EW-2, EW-3, EW-4, and EW-5 will continue until the installation of the offsite ozone sparge <br /> remedial system is operational It is anticipated that the ozone system will be operational by April <br /> 2005 <br /> LIMITATIONS <br /> This report presents our understanding of existing conditions at the subject site The conclusions <br /> contained herein are based on the analytical results, and professional judgment in accordance with <br /> current standards of professional practice, no other warranty is expressed or implied SECOR <br /> assumes no responsibility for exploratory borings or data reported by other consultants or <br /> contractors <br /> I IConocoPhi1hpslRetat1 Sites144091Qssrs1200414Q2004_QSR doc SECOR lntemational Incorporated - <br />
