Refer to PLATES I & II <br /> for more details <br /> GEOLOGIC & TOPOGRAPHIC SETTING <br /> The properties are located in the southern portion of what is <br /> referred to as the Sacramento Valley- Mosher Creek is abuuL 1 <br /> 1/2 miles to the north, and the Calaveras River is apYlUXiind4ery <br /> one mile to the south. The area as one of very low relief, <br /> typical of central valley topography; drainage is to the south- <br /> west at approximately 5' per mile The NorMac property is used <br /> for the storing and selling of irrigation products, PVC pipe, <br /> fertilizer, etc_ The adjacent Hammertown Partners parcel is <br /> vacant, undeveloped land; it is planned to convert the property <br /> to residential use PLATE III shows the properties in relation <br /> to nearby features <br /> DEPTH TO GROUNDWATER: <br /> Based upon San Joaquin County Flood Control District maps , the <br /> groundwater was as high as 38-40' bgl when measured in the spring <br /> • of 1986; (refer to PLATE IV. ) More recent maps and data from <br /> monitoring wells in the area indicate that the water table is <br /> presently between 80 & 90' bgl <br /> LOCATION OF NEARBY WELLS- <br /> PLATE V shows the locations of municipal wells in the area; the <br /> nearest groundwater monitoring wells are reported to be at El <br /> Dorado & Hammer Lane, about one mile northwest of the site. City <br /> of Stockton well #22, is located near the corner of Tam O' Shanter <br /> & Swain Road, on APN 084-050-09; (PLATE Il_) The driller' s log, <br /> (EXHIBIT Fi) shows that it is screened from 335' to 405' , with <br /> the first sand recorded from 156' to 162' It is reported that <br /> the well is produced only intermittently, static water level <br /> measurements have not been taken_ <br /> BRIEF REVIEW OF PRIOR WORK <br /> July 12 1989 - 1 , 000 gal UST removed by Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc , <br /> (JTO. ) A strong gasoline odor and discolored soil was noted at <br /> the west end of the excavation, in the vicinity of the pump <br /> island. Spoil returned to hole & covered with plastic <br /> January 19 thru 22 1990 -- Site was re-entered and additional <br /> spoil was removed. Refer to EXHIBIT A for derails <br /> 2 <br />
