<br /> DEFTH TO WATER TATTLE:
<br /> According to the latest published map issued by the San Joaquin
<br /> County Flood Control and Water Conservation District , (Plate V, ) the
<br /> water table at this location is approximately -40 feet , or about 58
<br /> feet below ground level .
<br /> REVIEW OF WORT DONE SINCE BEC I NN I NG OF PROJECT:
<br /> On March 29, 19e9 , Jim Thorpe Oil , Inc. . performed an annual -rank
<br /> System Tightness test on a 1 , 000 gallon underground gasoline storage
<br /> tank located at 6215 Tam O 'Shanter Drive, Stockton , California. The
<br /> tank tested satisfactorily, but a collar leak was noted in the
<br /> product line, which was bled down and capped off prior to the test.
<br /> On June 8, 1989, ,Jim Thorpe (311 , Inc. filed a Permanent ClOsureJTank
<br /> Removal Flan to the SJLHD for the above referenced tank . The plan
<br /> • was approved , with conditions , on July 7, 1989. Kequired soil tests
<br /> specified by the SJLHD were BTX&E, TFH--G , EDD, and -CEL_ (Refer to
<br /> E;,habit D and Plate VI for details. )
<br /> On July 12, 1989, Jim Thorpe Oil removed the USI and appro,imately
<br /> :5 cubic yards of spoil . A strong gasoline odor was noted , and
<br /> discolored soil was observed at the west end of the e•,cavation near
<br /> the pump island and fill end of the tank. Samples were taken at the
<br /> east and west end of the tank appro-imately 12 below ground level ,
<br /> and ? ' below the bottom of the tank ; (refer to Plate VII and E 4hibit
<br /> F. ) Samples were collected in brass tubes by Canonie Laboratory
<br /> personel under- Chain-of--Custody, (see E-hibit E. ) the spoil was
<br /> returned to the hole, covered with plastic , and appro;. imately 6
<br /> cubic yards of clean fill was added to bring the e•ecavation bac+ to
<br /> grade.
<br /> The samples were: analyzed on July '1 , 1969, and showed detectable
<br /> levels of BTXF,E, EDB, and TPH-G in the sample from the west end of
<br /> the tank , (2W. ) The sample at the east end , 1E, showed all tested
<br /> substances to be below reporting levels; (Table 1 . )
<br /> On Uctober 1C), 19E39, Jim Thorpe Oil submitted a Site Fie-E ,,cavationl
<br /> Resample Work Plan to the SJLHD; kE<hibit (3. ) Upon receiving verbal
<br /> approval to proceed from the SJLHD , Thorpe Oil moved onto location �
<br /> On January 19, 1990, and removed the cEcan fill airL , plastic , and
<br /> spoil which had been returned to the hole after removing the UST and
