<br /> U� On March 29, 1989° Jim Thorpe Oil , Inc. performed an annual Tani,
<br /> System Tightness test on a 1 ,000 gallon underground gasoline storage
<br /> tan[ located at 6215 Tam O Bhanter Drive, Stockton , California. The
<br /> U� tant tested satisfactorily, but a collar lea� was noted in the
<br /> product line, which was bled down and capped off prior to the test'
<br /> U� On June 8` 1989' Jim Thorpe Oil , Inc . filed a Permanent Closure/Tank
<br /> N�
<br /> Removal Plan to the SJLHD for the above referenced tank-' -the plan
<br /> was approved , with conditions, on July 7, 1989' Required soil tests
<br /> specified by the SJLHD were BTX&E, TPH-G, EDB, and TEL. kRefer to

<br /> On July 11*, 1989 , Jim Thorpe Oil removed the UST and appro.imately
<br /> U� 25 cubic yards of spoil . A strong gasoline odor was noted , and
<br /> discolored Boll was observed at the west end of the e`.ca`'atz on near
<br /> the pump island and fzll end of the tan[, . Samples were ta�,en at the
<br /> U� oust and west end of the tank appro .zmately 12 below ground lo-"el ,

<br />~~ and 2 below the bottom of the tani-; (refer to Plate VII and E hzbzt
<br /> F . ) Samples were collected in brass tubes by Canonze Laboratory
<br /> personel under Chain-of-Custody, (see E,hzbzt E. ) The spoil was
<br /> N� returned to the hole, covered with plastic , and appro..imately 6
<br /> cubic Yards of clean fill was added to bring the e,,cavatzon bac[- to
<br /> grade.
<br />-- The samples were analyzed on July :�1 , 1989 , and showed detectable
<br /> levels of BTX&E, EDB, and TPH-G Ln the sample from the west end of
<br /> N� the tant , (2W. ) The sample at the east end , 1E, showed all tested
<br /> m� substances to be below reporting levels; (Table 1 . )
<br /> On October 1o, 1989, Jzm Thorpe Oil submitted a Site Re-E,'cavatzon/
<br /> N� Resample Wort Plan to the SJLHD-, (E..hzbzt G' ) Upon receiving verbal
<br /> approval to proceed from the SJLHD, Thorpe Oil moved onto location
<br /> On January 19 , 1990 , and removed the clean fili dzrt , plastic , and
<br /> spoil which had been returned to the hole after removing the UST and
