The borings were advanced using an 8-
inch-diameter hollow-stem auger. A total of 64 feet of auger was utilized in each boring,
with a final sample drive of 16 inches achieving a total depth of 61-1/2 feet along the
t 30-degree angle. The actual vertical depth penetrated by the borings was approximately
53 feet below existing grade. Soil samples collected from the two soil borings were
analyzed For TPPH as gasoline, BTEX, EDB, EDC, and total lead. Please refer to Aegis'
"Pro-Tank Replacement Site Assessment results Report,"dates!March 5, 1591. The
analyses indicated trace concentrations of: TPH as gasoline, BTEX,total lead, and EDC
in all samples except one. One sample, 61-8, in boring one at approximately 34.6 feet
vertically below surface beneath the existing middle tank, reported .16,000 parts-per
I million (ppm) TPPH as gasoline and benzene at 63 ppm. EDB was not detected in any
! of any of the soil samples submitted for analysis.
} 2.3 Water Well and Sensitive Receptor Survey
-
7 f A well search was done on July 17, 1991, in order to locate all wells within 2,000 feet of
the Exxen service station site. The following is a list of the wells located:
Location Owner Use Distance From Site
fTy
Township 1 North Range 6 East California Water Municipal Approximately '
s Section 14 Track F - between Service Company well 650 feet
; West Jackson and Clay Streets,
and between Center and South
( Ef Dorado Streets.
}
Sensitive receptors located within 1,000 feet of the site include: a) Edison High School,
k1 U located across the street on South Center; and b) three UST facilities, including a
Chevron station located at 1901 South EI Dorado and 2057 South EI Dorado. No
J } subways or surface waters are within 1,000 feet of the site.
r The water source for this area is supplied by a California water service; a public utility.
The first encountered water at the site is classified as a Class It aquifer per the
S.ICPHS/EHD . Three observation wells are located on site and no free product is
' ' present.
E
f.t
C
MIiAW11htM9A/MfR1011lanOmrmim+i rr - ` .
