See below)
ADEQUATE AND NECESSARY ELEMENTS OF THE WORKPLAN (H&S 25296.10,subd. (c) (3).):
1 . Install one 4-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC groundwater extraction well (EW-1) with 0.030-inch
slotted screen length set from approximately 35 feet below surface grade (bsg) to 55 feet bag.
2. Conduct an 8-hour groundwater pumping test with the pumping rate increasing every 2-hours starting
at 2 gallons per minute (GPI\ , to evaluate the optimal extraction rate for the constant rate
groundwater extraction test. Levelloggers with be placed in EW-1 and monitoring wells MWl, MW2,
and MW3 to observe the influence of the pumping test.
3. Conduct a 24-hour constant rate groundwater extraction test based on the result of the 8-hour
pumping test to evaluate the feasibility of groundwater extraction for interim remediation.
4. Contingency to increase the 24-hour constant rate extraction test up to 72 hours if a steady state
condition has not been achieved after 24 hours.
5. Store (in a Baker tank), characterize, and transport extracted groundwater to licensed facility for
disposal
6. Collect soil and/or groundwater samples for analyses during well installation and the extraction tests.
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
1 . Install the EW-1 by July 31 , 2005.
2. Implement the groundwater extraction pilot test by August 15, 2005.
REASONS FOR DISAPPROVAL OF THE WORKPLAN (H&S 25296.10 subd.(C) (3).):
None.
DATEDJune 22 2005 BY C` -
Cc: CRWQCB, Central Valley Region — James L.L.
