(AGE) , on your behalf for the above-referenced site. The remediation <br /> - report presented soil vapor and groundwater extraction results completed between 30 <br /> September and 30 December 2013 ; the groundwater monitoring report presented analytical <br /> results from groundwater sampling completed on 07 January 2014. <br /> AGE estimated that approximately 300 pounds of petroleum hydrocarbon vapor were removed <br /> by vapor extraction and approximately 18 pounds of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline <br /> (TPH-g) were removed by groundwater extraction during approximate fifty-one days of <br /> operating the dual-phase extraction (DPE) system during the fourth quarter 2013 . Groundwater <br /> -� contaminant concentrations collected in January 2014 remained approximately the same when <br /> compared to previous sampling events on either 15 February or 26 August 2013. <br /> _ Although the mass of petroleum hydrocarbon removed by vapor extraction increased from <br /> approximately 115 pounds during the third quarter 2013 remediation period to approximately <br /> 300 pounds during the fourth quarter 2013, the highest concentrations of benzene in <br /> groundwater are currently reported at approximately 400 micrograms per liter (pg/L) and the <br /> highest concentrations of methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations are approximately <br /> 65 pg/L, based on the January 2014 groundwater monitoring report. These contaminant <br /> concentrations are well below 3, 000 pg/L for benzene and 1 , 000 pg/L for MTBE presented in <br /> the Low4hreat Closure Policy (LTCP) checklist established by the State of California Water <br /> Resources Control Board (State Water Board) . Therefore, the EHD directs that operation of the <br /> DPE remediation system cease, effective immediately . Following termination of the DPE <br /> system, the EHD directs that two quarters of rebound sampling be conducted during which time <br /> groundwater should be collected from monitoring wells MWA through MW-5, MW-8 and <br /> MWA0. Analyze the groundwater samples for TPH-g , benzene, toluene, e.thylbenzene, total <br /> xylenes (BTEX) , MTBE, di4sopropyl ether (DIPE) , tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary <br /> butyl alcohol (TBA) and 1 ,24chloroethane ('1 , 2-DCA); submit a report of findings to the EHD <br /> following the two sampling events . <br /> IJe , <br />
