Modify Geoprobe borings to hollow stem auger soil borings.
2. Convert at least three borings to shallow groundwater monitoring wells to maximize the
cost-benefit of the project.
3. Include 1,2 DCA and EDB in the list of chemical analyses.
4. At least one boring should be advanced to historical depth of the area at approximately
50 feet bsg(1993).
5. One soil sample from each significantly different lithological layer should be submitted
for analyses of soil physical characteristics including permeability, porosity, dry bulk
density, moisture content, etc. This information is required to understand the physical
parameters of local geology, contaminant transport mechanics, and feasibility of
potential remediation technology such as soil vapor extraction.
DATED August 21 2003 BY
Cc: CRWQCB, Central Valley Region—James L.
