10 September 2012
AGE Project No . 11 -1847
2 . 1 , PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained , including boring/well permits from the
SJCEHD . Also, a site-specific Health and Safety Plan will be prepared . Prior to
mobilization , each soil probe location will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained
through Underground Service Alert. The SJCEHD will be contacted 4&;hours prior to
conducting investigation activities to arrange for inspection .
2 .2 . SOIL PROBE BORINGS AND SAMPLING
Initially, four soil probe borings will be advanced utilizing a direct push drilling rig to assess
the lateral and vertical extent of the petroleum hydrocarbon-impact in the vicinity of the
former UST areas (Appendix B data ). A second set of borings may be advanced based
upon analytical results of samples collected from the initial borings .
Based upon data collected from the Quick N Save #2 site located at 2057 South EI Dorado
Street, Stockton , California (northwest of the McBillin site), groundwater is inferred to be
flowing toward the southeast/northeast; static groundwater depth within wells is estimated
to be approximately 30 feet bsg . Locations of the soil borings are shown on Figure 2 and
described below.
Initially, the following locations will be evaluated :
• One soil boring will be advanced within the former underground storage tank area
` on the eastern edge of former locations of Tank #3 and Tank #4. Samples collected
during the removal of the tanks documented impacted soil in this area at 10 feet
below surface grade (bsg).
• One soil boring will be advanced at the northern edge of the former Tank #4
I location , to evaluate the northern exent of adsorbed impact.
• One soil boring will be advanced at the western edge of the former Tank#3 and
Tank #4 locations to evaluate the western exent of adsorbed hydrocarbon impact.
• One soil boring will be advanced near the northeastern edge of the former Tank #1
location . Samples collected during the removal of the tanks documented impacted
` soil in this area at nine (9) feet bsg (Appendix B ) .
i
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
