i
Steve and Genes Service
2315 El Dorado,Stockton
Page 2
I
groundwater elevation, flow direction, or some other factors?
EHD agrees with GTI's proposal for additional groundwater wells to the north and
northeast of the site, and notes that additional wells may be required to fully delineate and
monitor impacted groundwater. The well, toward the east should be located in the most
common down-gradient position as indicated by historical groundwater flow directions.
Installation of additional sample collection points such as monitoring wells, borings,or
direct push points in directions other than north and northeast should also be considered at
this time to maximize cost-effectiveness.
i, is u ill not
uarterl monitorin even
_ 2001 thatfuture g
GTI stated in the above referenced 4 QMK f quarterly
include analysis by EPA method 8260. In a meeting on April 17,2001, Central Valley Regional
Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) agreed with EHD to discontinue analysis of
oxygenated fuel compounds by EPA Method 8260 as stated in the report, with the condition
that the 8260 test be performed once a year,i.e. the first quarterly sampling event of the year.
However, please be aware that any recommendation to discontinue analyses for any
chemicals of concern, substitution of testing methods,or modification of quarterly
monitoring schedules, etc.,requires review and approval by EHD. Please recommend
changes to the monitoring program as seems appropriate, but EHD requests that such
unilateral statements be omitted from future reports or letters.
If you have any questions, please contact Jeffrey Wong at (209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran,REHS,Director
Environmental Health Division
Jeffrey Wong,REHS Nuel C.
