On behalf of the property owners,Mr. &Mrs. Stephen Valentine, we will be installing
equipment to extract gasoline vapors from the ground and burn them in a combustion chamber. This process uses
. natural gas for fuel and we need to have PG&E install a high pressure gas pipeline to the site for the equipment.
A PG&E employee met me at the site on February 23, 2006 and informed me,that the nearest high pressure.gas
source is the pipeline that is located on E Adams Street.:A branch of the pipeline services your property that is
located adjacent to Mr. Valentine's above property. Ms.Rosie Tays of PG&E [tel#: (209) 942-1471] said that
we would have to get your permission to dig a trench on your property to the Valentine property, and then PG&E
would tap into the pipe and install a line to the Valentine property. Ms. Tays said that if you do not give this
permission, then they cannot supply the high pressure gas to the site and we would have to find an alternative
source of fuel. A large temporary propane tank isnot an option due to the small'size of the parcel.
At this time we are requesting your permission to dig a trench from the gas.pipe riser on your property that would
extend onto Mr. Valentine's property to the north so that PG&E can install.the gas service.. I have enclosed a
picture of the gas service and-the proposed location of the trench.' We have engaged the services of a general
engineering contractor Mr. Don Light of Del Tech Geotechnical Services-to perform the work. Ms. Tays said
that as soon as we receive your permission it will take 4-6 weeks for PG&E to arrange their portion of the work.
Our clients are eager to get the cleanup of.their property started and..we appreciate your help in overcoming this
obstacle. :
Please call me at(209) 522-4119 so we can discuss this matter.
Respectfully submitted,
Joseph D.
