PLATES II , III, IV, V, & VI show lines of equal concentration of
benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, xylene, & TPHg based upon the
6/24/1997 sampling event They continue to show that the highest
levels of all tested compounds were measured in MW-3 , supporting
the prior work which revealed that the area next to the pump
inland had very high levels of contamination in the soil in
Boring "B" . Although there is some variation in the levels of
measured substances compared to the March sampling, the shape of
the plume has not changed significantly This suggests that
there is little horizontal movement occurring, and that the plume
is relatively stable
CONCLUSIONS
1 The dispenser pumps & product lines appear to have been the
mayor contributor of the contamination on the property, although
the UST' s may have been a minor source
2 Although the limits of the plume have not been fully defined,
there is no evidence of an offsite source
3 There is some evidence that natural attentuation may be
taking place, although more data will be needed to verify that
process .
An approved workplan for placing six (6) strataprobe points to
the north, east, & south of the site in an attempt to locate the
"zero" line of the groundwater plume has been submitted to the
State Cleanup Fund staff for review and approval To date our
client has not received a response to that request When
approval is received, the required permits will be obtained and
the work sch duled
WOVRWQCB
er & Associates
Calentine WED 6FO/
WLuW J HUZER
CXpI re's
>/47
NO SFA
-or NO
CAS-FP
N
2
