California Tank Lines, Inc.
used rather than ND; if the reporting limit is raised, then less than the raised reporting
limit is appropriate to enter into Table 2 .
6. Superscripts in Table 1 are conveying incorrect detection limits. Superscript 1 indicates
that the detection limit for gasoline is 0.05 parts per million (ppm) but laboratory reports
indicate that the detection limit for gasoline is 0. 1 ppm; Superscript 2 indicates that the
detection limit for methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene,
and total xylene is 0.0005 ppm but laboratory reports indicate that the detection limit for
MTBE, benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, m,p-xylene, and o-xylene is 0.001 ppm; and
Superscript 4 indicates that the detection limit for diesel is 0.5 ppm but laboratory reports
indicate that the detection limit for diesel is 0. 1 ppm.
7 . Each oxygenate result should be reported in Table 2.
8. Two additional analytes, 1 ,2-dicbloroethane (1 ,2-DCA), and 1 ,2-dibromoethane (EDB)
should be added to the analytical list and reported at 0.5 µg/L, if possible.
9. Section 5 .2 of the narrative lists the methods used for analyses. These do not agree with
the laboratory reports. Please correct the methods in future quarterly reports.
10. Section 7.3 states that diesel results for MW-1 peaked at 72 ppm in June 2002 but Table 2
indicates that the date was September 2001 .
11 . Section 8. 1 , paragraph two, is difficult to understand. Please revise this paragraph.
12. The TPH-gasoline result for MW-2 collected on 11/ 11/03 should be 0 .78 ppm, not
0 .75 ppm.
Advanced GeoEnviromnental, Inc. (AGE), the consulting firm for the site at 3105 South
El Dorado Street in Stockton, would like to coordinate sampling on the same day that EI is at
3105 South El Dorado Street for the groundwater monitoring events. AGE is also interested in
jsharing data with EI. Please advise EHD if you are willing to coordinate future sampling events.
f
Laboratory analytical results have not been electronically submitted to GeoTracker — the State
Water Resources Control Board database program. This is required by Water Code Section
13196 and commonly referred to as AB 2886. Electronic transmission of laboratory analytical
results to GeoTracker must be initiated immediately.
Dawn Sorenson requested information pertaining to a closure summary report. This report should
include required data listed in Table 1 from Appendix B of the Tri-Regional Guidelines. A copy
of Appendix B is included with this letter. All items in Appendix B should be addressed to
facilitate closure consideration.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this letter, please contact Vicki McCartney,
REHS, at (209) 468-3456, or by e-mail at vmccartney@sjcehd.com.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Vicki McCartney, R_E r S Nuel C.
