In the report, WRM presents lithological and analytical data from the cone penetration test
(CPT) investigation involving the advancement of four CPT borings to approximately 125 feet
below surface grade (bsg) and collection of groundwater samples from soil borings Pl , P2, P3,
P4, and S-5 in October 2007 . Although the report mentions that soil samples were collected
from soil borings P-2 and S-5 and analyzed for percent carbon by weight and total effective
porosity, these soil results were not included in the report. Provide the data to the EHD by
February 27, 2009.
WRM reported that of the fifteen groundwater samples collected from soil borings Pl , P2, P3 ,
P4, and S-5 , only groundwater samples collected from P2 and S-5 contained significant
concentrations of contaminants of concern. Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline
(TPHg) were detected at 1 ,680 micrograms per liter (rg/L), benzene was detected at 30.7 µg/L,
di-isopropyl ether (RIPE) was detected at 837 µg/L, and 1 ,2-dieWoroethane ( 1 ,2-DCA) was
detected at 215 µg/L in groundwater collected at thirty-five feet bsg from P2. Methyl tertiary-
butyl ether (MTBE) was detected at 1 . 01 pg/L and 1 ,2-DCA was detected at 13 . 5 ug/L in
groundwater collected at sixty-five feet bsg from S-5 . DIPE was also detected at 4 . 04 pg/L, 6 . 68
µg/L, and 26.4 µg/L at 57 feet, 90 feet, and 115 feet bsg in groundwater collected from P2 .
WRM presented a site conceptual model (SCM) that indicated the primary source area for TPHg
has been centered near monitoring well MW-4, while total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons
quantified as diesel (TPHd) have historically been detected near MW- 1 and MW-2, and total
extractable petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as motor oil (TPHmo) have historically been
detected near MW-2 . These conclusions were supported by results from groundwater collected
