Mixtures of air and <br /> hydrocarbon fuels can present an explosion hazard. <br /> 4.2 PHYSICAL HAZARDS <br /> Physical hazards present at the Cal-Tank site are included but not limited to the <br /> following: <br /> • thermal stress ; <br /> 0 fire and explosion; <br /> • electrical hazards; <br /> • hot work; and, <br /> • noise. <br /> 3.3 General Safety Hazards <br /> Other possible safety hazards include the potential for slipping, falling, head trauma, <br /> lifting heavy objects, insect bites, and moving traffic. All personnel working on the <br /> project will wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection, <br /> i hard hats, traffic vests and steel-toed boots as required by the site safety officer (SSO). <br /> First aid will be available on-site to take care of any minor injuries. Appropriate <br /> emergency services shall be contacted to deal with the emergency situations more serious <br /> than cuts or scrapes. <br /> e: <br /> 4.0 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br /> Based on evaluation of potential hazards, hazard levels have been established as Level D, <br /> but the project manager should be prepared to upgrade protection to Level C if warranted <br /> J by field conditions. <br /> �j,• Environeering, Inc.
