The site is a commercial trucking facility which contains an office building, two
truck maintenance shops, a truck-washing rack, a small above-ground storage tank compound, a
vehicle fuelling facility, and large parking area for tank trailers.
SV-5 Boring Relocation
To focus the boring density to on-site locations and thus simplify project permitting, Taber
proposes to relocate soil vapor probe SV-5 to west of monitoring well MW-4 and within the site's
fenced perimeter from its present location (Figure 3). Taber believes that data quality will not be
compromised by relocating this boring adjacent to MW-4, while continuing to allow evaluation of
any potential off-site impacts at this location.
As previously described in Taber's (formerly Western Resource Management) February 26, 2009
Site Investigation Work Plan, soil vapor analytical results will be used to evaluate potential soil
vapor concentrations throughout the site. Taber will collect five (5) on-site soil vapor samples in
accordance with the California Regional Water Quality Control Board Los Angeles Region, Interim
Guidance for Active Soil Gas Investigation dated February 25, 1997; the California Department of
Toxic Substances Control Advisory—Active Soil Gas Investigations dated January 28, 2003; and
the California Department of Toxic Substances Control Interim Final Guidance for the Evaluation
and Mitigation of Subsurface Vapor Intrusion to Indoor Air, dated December 14, 2004 and revised
February 7, 2005.
Taber Consultants
Engineers and Geologists
