El Dorado Street
Stockton, CA
WORKPLAN: Work Plan Addendum to the FeaaikQ ry Studies and Monitoring Well Jnrfallarion Work Plan
DATED: June 18. 2003
PREPARED BY Advanced Ge-Environmental. Inc.
APPROVED X
DISAPPROVED ❑
ADEQUATE AND NECESSARY ELEMENTS OF THE WORKPLAN [Health & Safety Code (H&S)
Section 25299.37(c)(3)] :
1 . The work plan includes installation of one groundwater extraction well, two soil vapor extraction
wells, one air sparge well, and one ozone sparge well, but the immediate work includes only the
installation of two on-site groundwater monitoring wells, MW-8 and MW-9, and two off-site
monitoring wells, MW-10 and MW-11 . MW-8 will have screen intervals at depths between 65
and 70 feet below surface grade (bsg), 95 and 100 feet bsg, and 120 and 125 feet bsg. MW-9 will
have screen intervals at depths between 30 and 40 feet bsg, 65 and 70 feet bsg, 95 and 100 feet
bsg, and 120 and 125 feet bsg. MW-10 and MW-11 will have screen intervals at depths between
30 and 40 feet bsg, 70 and 75 feet bsg, 95 and 100 feet bsg, and 120 and 125 feet bsg.
2. San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) recommends that MW- 10 be
relocated approximately 10 to 15 feet in the direction of boring P-10. This will place MW-10 in a
position that is down gradient to MW-7, a monitoring well with high contaminant concentrations.
3 . EHD recommends installation of one additional multi-level groundwater monitoring well (MW-12)
to evaluate the vertical and lateral extent of impacted groundwater by 1 ,2 dichloroethane. MW-12
should be located northwest instead of northeast of soil boring P-8 due to space constraints, with
recommended multi-level screen intervals at depths between 30 and 40 feet bsg, 70 and 75 feet
bsg, 95 and 100 feet bsg and 120 and 125 feet bsg to correspond with the four potential
hydrologic units identified during the cone penetrometer testing.
4. The proposed multi-level well construction diagram presented for MW- 12 will be corrected to
show that the bentonite seal will go from 40 to 68 feet, the filter pack will go from 68 feet to 75
feet, followed by a bentonite seal from 75 to 93 feet.
5 . Soil samples will be collected for logging purposes at five-foot intervals, beginning at five feet bsg.
I
