(AGE) previously prepared the
above-referenced work plan for the installation of three (3) soil vapor extraction (SVE) wells,
performance of an SVE feasibility test and installation of one off-site ground water monitoring well .
Thereafter, by letter dated 25 July 2008, the SJCEHD approved the installation of the SVE wells
and SVE feasibility test but did not approve the location of the proposed ground water monitoring
well for various perceived safety reasons .
AGE has the following comments based on the 25 July 2008 SJCEHD letter:
1 . The
EHD issued no directive for additional investigation down gradient of MW- 10 .
Therefore, the June 2008 work plan was prepared by AGE to only address the ground
water impact southeast of MW-9 and not down gradient of MW- 10 .
2 , EHD comment: For safety reasons, the EHD does not believe a monitoring well
should be installed in the turn lane.
AGE response : We disagree with the EHD assessment that this location would not
837 Shaw Road , Stockton, California 95215
Telephone (209) 467 - 1006 Fax (209) 467-1118
