Weber Avenue, P Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Re: Work Plan-Remedial Action Feasibility Study
`Location:- r - — - Cutter-lJutuber,3430 S., I-IDorado St.,Stockton,_Site._Code_1.087....,.... _
Dear Mr. Knoll:
i
This letter is to memorialize our telephone conversation of September 7, 1999. On April .14, 1999,
your office issued a letter directing the Bank of Stockton to submit a Work Plan to perform .
additional site characterization and to conduct a remedial feasibility study at the subject site. The
additional site characterization was to focus on the deeper groundwater aquifer which was thought
to have been impacted by the gasoline release of this site. As we have discussed from time to time
over these past months, it now appears that the groundwater samples from the deep well (MW-8A)
have been displaying steadily reduced contaminate "levels. The sample from the most recent
monitoring event contained virtually no detectable contaminants, and we have concluded.that cross-
contamination from shallower levels impacted essentially clean groundwater during the initial
drilling the deep well.
Based on this observation, and with your verbal concurrence; we have been holding the preparation
of the Work Plan in abeyance. In our conversation of the 7t", you directed that we continue to defer
submission of a Work Plan pending results of the next 1 to 2 quarterly monitoring events.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call (209) 569-0293.
Respectfully Submitted,
Geo-Phase Environmen Inc.
Stephen M.
