The Report was
submitted to PHS/EHD for an ongoing investigation at 3430 South El Dorado, Stockton. PHS/EHD placed
Western Lift, located at 3430 South El Dorado, Stockton, in Local UST Oversight Program (LOP) August 1991
for oversight and clean up activities associated with an unauthorized release of petroleum from an underground
storage tank removed on June 6, 1991. This resent Report contained groundwater sample results from ation site
production well at Cutter Lumber Products. Those results were positive for petroleum hydrocarbon(TPH Gasoline:
624ppb, Benzene: 206 ppb).
Five groundwater monitoring wells have been installed and sampled due to the unauthorized release at Western Lift.
These wells are 400+ feet south of Cutter Lumber Products production well and have historically contained much
lower concentration of gasoline than Cutter's well.
Based on analytical results and reported information, there may be two separate releases and groundwater
contamination plumes in the areas of Western Lift and Cutter Lumber Products. PHS/EHD records indicate above
ground storage tanks were used in the vicinity of Cutters contaminated well. No known underground storage tanks
remain at either site.
If you apply to the State Water Resources Control Board and gain approval for PHS/EHD to assume the lead agency
role, this office can provide oversight during assessing the nature and extent of soil and groundwater contamination
at Cutter Lumber Products.
If you have any further questions regarding this matter, contact Harlin Knoll at(209) 468-3442.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Diane M.
