' QUARTERLY REPORT
February 1994
Western Lift
3430 South El Dorado Street
Stockton, California
1.0 INTRODUCTION
' In accordance with a request from Mr. John Urrutia of the Bank of Stockton, Geological
Audit Services, Inc. (GeoAudit) has performed quarterly monitoring procedures at 3430
South El Dorado Street in Stockton, California (the site). This report describes the water
' sampling procedures and presents the results.
' 2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Location
The site is located in a flat industrial area south of Stockton (Figure 1). The facility consists
of a large warehouse and adjoining office and exterior fenced parking/delivery area (see
Figure 2). Cutter Lumber is located to the north of the site, and currently manufactures
wooden pallets.
2.2 UST Removal
Three underground tanks were removed from the delivery area in June of 1991. Gasoline
contamination was detected in three of the seven soil samples collectedfrom the excavation,
indicating that an unauthorized release of hydrocarbons had occurred and that an
' assessment of the site was required. Sample results were summarized in the Site
Contamination Workplan dated July 24, 1991.
' 2.3 Excavation
The assessment of the site was performed in two phases. Each phase consisted of
overexcavation followed by the collection and analysis of soil samples from the walls and
floor of the excavation. The excavation phases and sampling are described in the Preliminary
Investigation and Evaluation Report (PIER) dated December 11, 1991. On May 1 1992,
backfilling of the excavation was completed. The excavation was backfilled to grade with pea
gravel.
2.4 Monitoring Well Installation
' On June 1, 1992, a groundwater monitoring well was installed immediately north of the
k'umm lih QRti,2-99/-1.10
j
