Bank of Stockton Page 7
BofS (Cuter) Prehminary Soil and Groundwater Investigation
Project No 102 2
April 8, 1997
Boring B-7
This boring was completed near the west or the tank pit and near the west Property line
Gasoline impacted soil was encountered at a depth of about 8 feet, and persisted to the
bottom of the boring at 40 feet The soil in this boring was mostly clayey silt, but silty sand
' was encountered from about 20 feet to about 27 feet A well graded sand was also
encountered at near the bottom of this 40 foot boring
' Boring B-8
This boring was completed south of the tank pit near the south wall of the former "oil
building" The shallowest significant petroleum odors and staining were encountered at
I about 20 feet, and persisted to the bottom of the boring The soils consisted of silt and clay
except for silty sand near the bottom of the boring, and a sandy silt lens at about 20 feet
I Boring B-9
The boring was drilled about 30 feet southeast of the tank pit Petroleum odors and
discoloration were not noted except at the bottom of the boring Soils in the boring consisted
' entirely of silt and clay Free water was encountered at 35 feet, slightly less than in other
borings A water grab sample was collected through the hollow stem
Boring B-10
The boring was drilled north of the tank pit, about halfway between the pit and the domestic
water well The first occurrence of noticeable petroleum staining and odor was encountered
at 20 feet, and persisted to groundwater Soil in the boring consisted of clay and silt except
for a sand stringer at the 20 foot level
' BoringB-11
The boring was drilled northeast of the tank pit and near the south east comer of a nearby
' work shed The first field evidence suggesting the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons was
encountered at 30 feet where a weak gasoline odor was apparent The boring was drilled to
40 feet where the first evidence of stained soil was encountered
' Boring_B-12
This boring was drilled west of the domestic water well, near the west Property line No
' petroleum odor or stain was noted except in the bottom (40 ft) sample A groundwater
sample was also collected with a bailer from this boring The soil here was composed of silt
and clay except for a stringer of pebbly sand at about 20 feet
' Boring B-13
Drilled several feet east of the domestic water well, this boring did not encounter petroleum
significant staining or odor except in the terminal (40 ft) sample The soil consisted of clay
and silt except a sand stringer at 20 to about 26 feet
2937 Veneman Ave,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293
Modesto, CA 95356 Fax (209) 569-0293
1
