AZURE ENVIRONMENTAL
Ground-water elevation data will be collected from all Site monitoring wells on a quarterly
schedule. Ground-water sampling data are recommended to be collected from Site monitoring
wells on a quarterly, semiannual and annual schedule (Table 1). Quarterly samples will be
collected from downgradient wells MW-9 and MW-10 (Figure 1). Semiannual sampling is
recommended for near-source wells (MW-1, MW-3 and MW-G) and crosseradient wells (MW-5,
MW-7 and MW-8). Upgradient well MW-2 is recommended to be sampled annually, while
upgradient well MW-4 is recommended to be removed from the sampling program. Ground-
water samples will be submitted to the laboratory for analysis of TPH as gasoline (EPA Method
8015/5030) and BTEX (EPA Method 8020). Per your request, first and second quarter samples
from wells MW-9 and MW-10 will be sampled for methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). In the event
that MTBE is not detected, no additional MTBE analysis will be performed.
The monitoring data will be presented and evaluated in quarterly reports prepared in
accordance with the SJCPHS guidelines. Quarterly monitoring reports will be submitted to
the SJCPHS within 30 days after the last day of each calendar quarter and will include the
following:
• descriptions of the methodologies used to collect and analyze the data;
• tabular and figure presentations of ground-water elevation data collected from the wells;
and
• presentation and interpretation of ground-water analytical results, including a table
summarizing historical results of ground-water sampling at the Site.
We plan to implement the revised ground-water monitoring program following your concurrence
with the schedule presented above. Please feel free to call me at 415/485-9740 if you have any
questions.
Sincerely,
1 ,1
Jeff Hennier, R.G.
Principal Hydrogeologist
cc: Larry Chapman, Manna Pro
George von Stamwitz, Esq.
2
