E i4`iI,CJ' SIN i AL HEAI_TI
l 94 DEC -5 PM 2= 44
PILOT TESTING REPORT
AND
CONCEPTUAL CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN
MANNA PRO CORPORATION FACILITY
4004 EL DORADO STREET
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
i
ij
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
i
This Executive Summary summarizes pertinent findings and conclusions of the Pilot Testing Report and
Conceptual Corrective Action Plan, Manna Pro Corporation Facility, 4004 El Dorado Street Stockton,.
California, dated July 15, 1994 (the "Report").
This Executive Summary was prepared at the request of San Joaquin County Public Health Services"
(SJCPHS) and only summarizes some of the findings and conclusions set forth in the Report. It does
not, nor is it intended to, describe the factual and scientific basis for the findings and conclusions set
forth, nor does it describe past work performed at the site, or the geological, hydrological or other
characteristics of the site, where such matters have been described in other reports. ANY PARTIES
INTERESTED IN THE SITE REMEDIATION ARE CAUTIONED TO REVIEW THE REPORT IN FULL FOR
ALL PARTICULARS ABOUT THE SITE CONDITIONS PILOT TESTING WORK AND RECOMMENDED
REMEDIATION TECHNOLOGIES. .
The objective of the work performed by Groundwater Technology, Inc., and described in the Report (the
"Pilot Testing Work") was to further quantify groundwater and soil vaporflow characteristics under
various vacuum and pumping influences to determine a cost effective remedial action technology
appropriate for removal of gasoline and diesel fuel hydrocarbons detected in the soil and.groundwater at
the site.
The Pilot Testing Work had essentially four components:
i) Installing one extraction well and three observation wells for the purposes of conducting
the pilot testing described below;
ii) performing a constant-rate aquifer test (which involved groundwater pumping only);
i iii) performing a combined groundwater extraction and high-vacuum soil vapor extraction
(HVE) test (which involved pumping groundwater from the extraction well using a
r centrifugal pump and applying a vacuum to the well to extract soil vapors and enhance
groundwater flow from the well); and
iv) performing a high-vacuum dual-phase extraction (HVDPE) test (which involved applying
a vacuum to the well to extract both soil vapors and groundwater from the well).
I
GROUNDWATER
'71! - _i TECHNOLOGY, INC.
i
