Manna Pro will endeavor to place soils represented by composite samples with the
lowest concentratlony near the bottom of the excavation,
iii) Because of the use of clean fill In the bottom of the excavation, all of the excavated
soils will probably not be able to be placed back In the excavation. Therefore, soil
meeting target criteria for which there Is no room in the excavation, will be spread out
either on the vacant lot at the southern end of the property or on vacant land at the
northern end of the property near the area designated for the on-site soil treatment.
Manna Pro understands that these soils will be considered non-hazardous, will not be
subject to further treatment or other requirements, and neither SJCPHS nor RWQCB will
take further action with respect to them.
Additionally, It is understood that if this plan is approved, future excavatlon of impacted In-place soils will
not be required by SJCPHS or RWQCB as part of overall site remedlation. Manna Pro requests this
assurance because the acttvNes described in this plan would not be cost-effective If future excavation of
in-place soils is required. Manna Pro plans to perform in-situ remedial measures for the Impacted in-
place soils.
Manna Pro assumes that approval of this addendum and the associated work plan constitutes all of the
permission necessary to perform the described activities.
We hope these clarifications and revisions will satisfy SJCPHS and AWACS. Manna Pro would like to
begin this project as soon as possible to take advantage of the weather, and have the excavation
backfilled before the rainy season begins. If you have any questions or comments, please call either
Dean Willis of Q'Melveney & Myers at (213) 669.6000 or me at (510) 671-2387.
Sincerely,
GROUNDWA NOI.OGY, INC.
Richard M. masser
Hydrogeologist anager
cc: Ms. Elizabeth Thayer, RWQCB Central Valley Region
Mr. bean Willis, 4'Melveney& Myers
Mr. Larry Chapman, Manna Pro
MPWPA002
_ cRouNnWATER
I i
1 TrcmN LocY.I1rc.
