Manna Pro Stockton 3
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
April 1992
Aromatic volatile organics analyzed for and detected included benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes j
(STEX). Total BTEX ranged from 26 micrograms per liter(ug/L),or parts per billion (ppb) In the sample
from well NVY-4 to 77,oco ug/L In the sample from well MW-1. Total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH) as
gasoline similarly ranged from 130 ug/L In MW-4 to 150,000 ug/L in MW-1.
Total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel tuel w,re not observed above the detection limit of 10 ug/L in any
of the samples. Because diesel fuel has nat i-,een detected for two consecutive quarters of groundwater
monitoring and sampling,we recommend no further TPH-as-diesel fuel analyses be performed.
Total lead was only detected In the sample frorn well hAW-1 at 33 ug/L. The laboratory noted that the
sample from MW-1 contained sediment. PreL?ous analytical results Indicated total lead ranging from 11 to
28ug/L.. Because the only sample ir,which lead was detected this quarter contained sediment, the detected
lead may be related to the sediment, rather than dissolved in groundwater. It Is recommended that
subsequent analyses for lead be total dissolved !ead rather than total lead.
Figure 2 graphically illustrates the TPH a.;gasoline anelyticai results presented in Table 3. The results are
generally sim€lar to previous Interpretations regarding the extent of petroleum hydrocarbon Impact to
groundwater. Previous data is presented in Soil and Qroundwater Investioatign at Manna rInc.Fagility
dated December 1990,prepared by ERM-West, !nc..
We trust this sport meets your needs at this time.
