The fumigant, methyl bromide, was also used for fumigation
' Once these compounds were identified, only two were of concern, Avntrol and
Pival. Avltrol is used to impregnate whole corn to used as bait. Pival is used in
water to poison water for water bait solution.
' A soil sample was collected in an area where several dead rodents were observed
during the site investigation (Figure 3). This soil sample was analyzed employing
the EPA method for the two (2) compounds Avitroi and Prval.
The analytical results indicated nothing detected at the method detection lunnts for
' these compounds (Appendix Q.
' Underground Stmage Tank (UST) (Undisturbed Sample)
Tim facility has six (6) underground fuel storage tanks. Three (3) 10,000 gallon,
two (2) 5,000 gallon and one (1) 5,700 gallon single wall steel tanks. Five (5) of
the underground storage tanks are located at the fuel point to the northwest of the
' property (Figure 5), three (3) 10,000 gallon and two (2) 5,000 gallon tanks. The
single 5,700 gallon tank is located to the east side of the facility just south of the
' 1,000 KVA power sub-station (Figure 3)
During the inspection and preliminary records review m early January 1990, some `
discrepancies were noted in the testing and permitting requirements for the tanks.
in further review we found that tank testing records. prior to 1986 were non-
existent. Tank testing from 1986 indicate that the 5,7000 gallon tank used for
' boiler fuel (diesel) failed testing due to a line failure. The failed line was repaired
and retested in early 1987 and passed. All other testing on all tanks passed as
required in the 1988 and 1989 testing. Perrmts for 1959 have not been, as of yet,
issued bemuse of incomplete records provided to San Joaquin County Local Health
District. 1990 permit fees and tank testing are coming due for this site.
1
