Pilot Testing Report and Conceptual Corrective Action Plan July 15, 1994
Manna Pro, 4004 South EI Dorado, Stockton, CA 4
iperformed soil sampling around the tank excavation This sampling was performed by excavating
Slats into the walls of the existing excavation using a backhoe, in accordance with the Re-excavation
' Work Plan prepared by WHF that had been approved by SJCPHS
t Soil samples were collected from depths of approximately 17 feet below grade (2 feet below the
bottom of the excavation) and 32 to 35 feet below grade (17 to 20 feet below the bottom of the
excavation) The samples were analyzed for TPH-D, TPH-G, and BTEX Most of the samples
collected contained TPH-D concentrations between 2 and 10 mg/kg In general, impacted soil
encountered during this investigation appeared to be limited to the northeast quadrant of the
1 excavation at a depth of approximately 33 feet below grade
2 1 5 Monitoring Wells MW-1 through MW-6
Groundwater monitoring wells MWA through MW-6 were installed by ERM-West in 1990 to evaluate
the impact to shallow groundwater associated with the former USTs The details of well installation
and results are discussed in the report, Soil & Groundwater Investigation at Manna Pro, Inc, Facility,
dated December 1990
2 1 6 Monitoring Wells MW-7 through MW-10
' Additional groundwater monitoring wells were requested by SJCPHS to complete definition of the
extent of contamination Four new monitoring wells (MW-7 through MW-10) were installed in
' January, 1993 by Groundwater Technology, Inc , the consultant that replaced ERM-West The
details of well installation and results of sampling are discussed in the Quarterly Report of
Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling, dated April 15, 1993
22 Summary of Recent Investigation and Pilot Testing
To conduct corrective action pilot test activities, Groundwater Technology installed one extraction
' well and three observation wells on site Because the data gathered during these activities have not
been included in a previous report, details on drilling, sod sampling and well construction are
provided in the following sections Before drilling, a permit to install one extraction well and three
observation wells was obtained from the SJCPHS
' zaysRvaa 070
GROUNDWATER
' TECHNOLOGY, INC
