Former Manna Pro Site Page 6 '
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
Project No 207 2
August 18, 2000
' 3.0 DISCUSSION
' 3.1 Discussion of Data
' Field and analytical data results are summarized 1n Summary Table 1 and
illustrated in Figures 3 through 5
' The map of groundwater gradient (Figure 3) suggests that the flow of
groundwater is to the northeast The water table has risen in excess of a foot
since the last monitoring event in April An area of groundwater "mounding"
' is evident which centered in the area of VEW-1 This is probably an artifact of
the recent pilot test work in which vapor extraction and air sparging activities
were conducted
The analytic data suggest that contaminant levels are generally consistent
with what has been observed in past monitoring events The more distal areas
' appear to display a gradual degradation of the contaminant plume, but little
natural attenuation is occurring in the core area
The contaminant levels in the sample from MW-11, the deep well, have fallen
to trace levels since the well was first constructed in April It appears the
' gasoline impacted samples first collected in this well were cross-contaminated
by invasion of drilling mud filtrate during the drilling process
' 3.2 Future Work Schedule
' As a follow up to the recently completed pilot test report, a feasibility study
will be completed in the near future It is anticipated that after the results of
the feasibility study are evaluated, that the regulatory authorities will direct
' that a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) be submitted This RAP will describe the
methods and protocols to be used to mitigate the release and eventually lead to
' closure of this site
Monitoring of the existing wells should continue
1
2937 Veneman Ave ,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293
Modesto, CA 95356 Fax (209) 569-0293
