iFoimer Manna Pro Site Page 7 <br /> Ruaitedy Groundwater Monitoring Report <br />' &Monitoring Well Construction <br /> Pi oject No 207 2 <br /> June 2, 2000 <br />' 3 0 FIELD & ANALYTIC DATA <br /> 3.1 Site Geology & Hydrology <br /> 1 <br /> I <br /> MW-11 - Site Geology Observed <br />' The geologic features observed during the completion of the boring of MW-11 can <br /> generally be characterized as alternating layers of medium to dark brownish <br /> gray clays and silts and silty to clean sands (See also the boring login Appendix <br />' C) The following mayor lithologic intervals were noted <br /> i <br /> 10 to 15+feet <br />' Sticky to semi-plastic green clays and silty clays <br />' 20 to 30+feet <br /> This is a thick sandy interval varying from medium-grained to pebbly, course- <br /> grained sand The first saturated sample was obtained at the 30 foot interval <br /> Above this, the sand is yellowish brown material but at the water table, the <br /> material becomes dark, apparently due to hydrocarbon staining The sand also <br /> contains numerous thin lenses of silt and clay <br />' 35 to 70+feet <br /> The portion of the boring below 50 feet was drilled with mud rotary tools and <br />' only three samples were collected here This means the lithologic characteristics <br /> below 50 feet are much less well known than in the first 50 feet of the well <br /> Based on samples as well as the "feel" of the drilling equipment This interval is <br />' silty clay and clayey silt There is however well sorted sand interval at the 45 <br /> foot level <br />' 70'to 97 feet - TD <br /> No samples were available in this interval except at the bottom of the boring <br />' This sample consisted of a dark gray very fine to fine grained sand <br /> 3.2 Soil & Groundwater Analyses <br />' Soil Analysis <br /> Soil from a total of six soil samples were submitted to Sherwood Laboratories of <br />' Hilmar (State Certified Laboratory #1400) following Chain of Custody protocol <br /> All samples were tested for the presence of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and <br /> xylene (BTEX) using EPA method 8020 Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons <br />' measured as gasoline were analyzed using EPA method 503018015m, and Total <br /> Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons measured as diesel by EPA method <br />' 2937 Veneman Ave ,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293 <br /> Modesto,CA 95356 Fax (209) 569-0293 <br />
