Shown on Figure 1 is the approximate location
of the monitoring well we propose to install on your property. Figure 2 is a schematic well design
showing the construction of a typical monitoring well installed by EMCON for projects throughout
California.
The monitoring well will be drilled using a truck-mounted drill rig with 8- to 10-inch-diameter augers.
A 2-inch-diameter polyvinyl chloride casing will be installed in the boring. For safety and security
reasons, the top of the casing will be fitted with a locking cap and an aluminum cover with specially
designed fasteners. The aluminum cover will be set approximately 1/4-inch above surrounding grade.
The boring will take approximately 3 hours to drill, and the monitoring well construction will take
approximately 4 hours. EMCON anticipates the work will be completed in approximately I day. Two
subcontractor personnel will operate the drill rig, and an EMCON geologist will be present during
SAC/PJft80M8051140.2BM-94 PAS: 1
