Shelton, Brad
Subject: ARCO 2130
Brad ,
hi . .
hope you 're well .
I got a chance to look at this site . I didn't like what I saw. Remediation OFF since Oct
2009 and your only recommendation is to review alternate remedial activities . . . no dates
for WHEN I 'll see submittals, a work plan , any plan , some action , weak. . we call this a
'no-progress site'. NOT a good place to be.
I 'll be precise. I want a Feasibility Study describing your 'remedial review'. And I want
your/ARCOs recommendation for cleaning up the site in a timely manner.
If I don't hear a good rationale from you by early next week, say June 2 , I 'll be directing
ARCO to submit and progress towards completing the cleanup, plan on a FS being due
on GT very soon if you don't already have a plan to proceed/progress .
I don't need any more flack from the SWRCB about sites just monitoring . . . .
I thought to be diplomatic by telling you my plans . if a site doesn't qualify for NFA
because of residual mass/contam too high , then mitigate it. simple.
I call it poop or get off the pot. . close it or clean it up. . ,
no more just monitoring sites to hot to close .
now Let me know yours . this includes dates . pending plans . progress.
Michael J . Infurna Jr.
Senior REHS. CA Reg #5649
LOP / Site Mitigation Unit IV
6/3/2010
