The purpose of the meeting was to determine the type of
data required by PHS/EHD to evaluate these sites for closure.
Stagg High School
PHS/EHD concurs with the Helmick and Lemer recommendation to install a monitoring
well by the gasoline tank. PHS/EHD requested submittal of a mass balance estimate of ,
the soil and groundwater contamination remaining from the diesel tank and 220 feet of
piping.
Franklin High School j
In order to determine the vertical extent of contamination in the area of B-1 a
groundwater sample should be obtained and analyzed for gasoline range hydrocarbons
and its constituent components of benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes. 11 .7
Additional investigation or closure will be based on the results of the groundwater./
analysis.
Edison High School r
The vertical extent of contamination beneath tank 1 is unknown. Soil samples and if
necessary a groundwater sample should be obtained and analyzed for diesel range
hydrocarbons. Vertical extent will be considered determined with the first sample that
returns analyses of non detect for diesel range hydrocarbons.
SUSD Corporation Yard
Three areas have yielded the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons from analytical data.
This data is included in the January 27, 1997 Helmick and Lemer Report. PHS/EHD
requires additional investigation in areas identified in the report by sample number.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
