In December 2000,total As and Cr was greater then the respective MCLS at MW-
2. The concentration of As at MW-5 decreased in January 2001 to
a level below the MCL. Arsenic is not a contaminant associated with the pad materials.
Planned Action
Based on the information developed in the investigation,MonierLifetile intends to remove the pad and
approximately 1-3 foot of underlying soils from the pad area.
The monitoring well in the pad, will be removed and properly closed prior to the pad removal. If the remaining
monitoring wells do not interfere with the removal action, they will be left in place and another round of
monitoring performed prior to a decision being made regarding removal of the wells.
Removal of the pad and underlying soils will be using typical earthmoving equipment. Material will be loaded onsite
into trucks and transported to a Class II Landfill for disposal.
Schedule
Due to the limited timeframe under the order to remove the material, the following schedule is anticipated:
Task Date
Submit Request for February 15,2002
Supervision/Approval of planned
Action
Remove Monitoring Well in Pad March 7-15,2002
Receive Approval from CV-RWQB March 15,2002
Remove Pad and 1 foot of underlying March 18-29,2002
soil/fill
Provide Notification to District April 15,2002
Attorney Requirement Met
We appreciate your time in evaluating this issue and look forward to receiving your approval.
