t
PEGASUS GROUP
May 20, 1992 MAY 2 6 1992
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
Pamela Violett
San Jouquin County
Environmental Health Department
PO Box 20019
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: Village West Marina
Dear Ms. Violett:
Enclosed you will find a copy of the engineering and soil testing
reports in connection with removal of underground petroleum storage
tanks at Village West Marina. As you can see from reading the
reports there is contamination at the site. Some of the higher
levels of contamination may have been caused by spilling of fuel
when the tanks were removed. However, it also appears that there
may have been some leaks in individual tanks that have contaminated
the soils. In that regard, we have contacted 3 firms who
specialize in environmental clean up to review these reports and
assess the situation. We have asked each of these firms to provide
us with a proposed clean up agenda. We are most anxious to begin
this work immediately so we may back fill the hole that was created
when the tanks were removed. Please review these reports at your
earliest convenience so we may begin the clean up process.
Sin erely,
ight W Davis
DWD/mcm
cc - California Regional Water Quality Control Board
UST Division
Len Bohlke - Village West Marina
1840 San Miguel Dr., Suite 100 ■ Walnut Creek, CA 94596 ■ (510)930-0810 0 Fax 256-0300
