In this report, AGE describes the
history of the subsurface investigation of the unauthorized underground storage tank
(UST) system release, property use, a water well receptor survey, and the physical and
chemical characteristics of the subsurface.- Briefly summarized, the findings and
interpretations of AGE include:
The unauthorized release of fuel hydrocarbons was apparently from a single
10,000-gallon diesel UST removed in 1997;
• The former UST facility is within 2,000 feet of four domestic wells and i0
groundwater monitoring wells;
• Depths to water, based on seven groundwater monitoring events, have been
the inferred
ace
approximately w direction feet to s toward h.55 feet eloorthlnorthwestd at(gradients between
groundwater flaw d
0.002 and 0.0006;
The major contaminant of concern at this facility is diesel; the highest soil
concentrations of diesel, outside the farmer UST location, were found at 3,400
milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) in soil boring P4 at 10 feet bsg, and 3,800 mg/kg
in monitoring well MW-5 at 10 feet bsg; (P4 and MW-5 are located southwest of
the former UST.)
The dissolved TPH-gasoline concentrations decreased from as high as 380
micrograms per liter (}rg/L) to non-detectable in monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2,
MW-4, MW-5, and extraction well EW-1, between February 2002 and August
2003;
Dissolved TPH-diesel was detected in only onneelE2002 until March 2003E
2800 µg/L, 800 µg/L, and 920 }Ag/L from August
