y
AUGEAS Corporation
Callrornla Natural Products
Problem Assessment Report
June, 1991
those found in the soil sample collected from SB-5(See Table 2).Both borings(MW-1 and SB-5)appear
to be about an equal distance from the former tank;thus,it is possible that the groundwater plume extends
further to the west than is actually shown in Figure 3.MW-#2 contained no evidence of gasoline and is
considered to be in an up-gradient direction well outside the zone of contamination.
The analytical results from the original water sampling event as compared to the first quarterly monitoring
show that the BTEX levels are increasing, and indicate the contamination plume is moving northward.
j
6.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was prepared in general accordance with the accepted standard practice and state of the art
knowledge of the fields of environmental geology and groundwater hydrology. It should be recognized
that definition and evaluation of environmental conditions is a difficult and inexact science.Judgements
leading to conclusions and recommendations are generally made with an incomplete knowledge of the
conditions present.More extensive studies, including additional groundwater monitoring wells, will tend
to reduce the inherent uncertainties associated with the areal and vertical extent of contamination found
during this study.
Our firm has prepared this report for the client's exclusive use for this particular project. No other
warranties expressed or implied, as to the professional advice provided, are made.
i
•
