k' ■ K L E I N F E L D E R <br /> 2 SITE SETTING <br /> 2.1 SITE LOCATION <br /> According to the 1987 photorevised U.S. Geologic Service 7.5-Minute Topographic Map, the <br /> California Natural Products Plant and Rapid Infiltration sites are located in the Eastern %2 of the <br /> NE %4 of Section 26 of Township 1 South Range 6 East of the Mount Diablo Base Line & <br /> Meridian (MDBL&M). The elevation of the property is shown to be approximately 15 to 20 feet <br /> above mean sea level(ms]). <br /> Specifically the plant is located at 1250 East Lathrop Road in Lathrop, California. The property is <br /> located approximately 2 miles east of the San Joaquin River, and immediately east of the Southern <br /> Pacific Railroad. The "Rapid Infiltration Area" for wastewater discharge is located south of the <br /> plant on McKinley Road(see Plates 1 and 2). <br /> California Natural Products is bordered to the north by Lathrop Road beyond which is Sharpe <br /> Army Depot. The plant is bordered to the west by railroad tracks, beyond which is commercial <br /> and residential property. The property to the south is industrial properties. The site is bordered on <br /> the east by McKinley Avenue,beyond which is industrial and residential property. <br /> The proposed Louise Avenue Infiltration Facility is located in the Eastern 1/2 of the Southwest %4 <br /> of Section 25 of Township 1 South Range 6 East of the MDBL&M. The elevation of the <br /> property is shown to be approximately 20 to 25 feet above msl. <br /> 2.2 CURRENT USE AND SITE CHARACTERISTICS <br /> The project site is currently an operating food processing plant with associated storage, offices, <br /> parking, and landscaping. The site has its own wastewater treatment plant and land discharge area <br /> for the treated effluent. <br /> The following information was obtained from a report dated September 18, 2001 titled <br /> "Additional Information For The Report Of Waste Discharge"by Bonneau Dickson of Berkley, <br /> California. <br /> Potable water for the California Natural Products (CNP) plant is obtained from the City of <br /> Lathrop water system.
