This TPID number is a county obtained TPID number and
therefore we will treat it as the county's inspection. The only way City of Ripon Public Works will be involved in the
inspection is that the tires that are hauled from around the city and kept at this site until the next spring cleanup will be
counted, so we will simply need access to those tires (which was not an issue during this inspection). As long as no
waste tires generated from City of Ripon vehicles are being added to this pile and no tire service is being performed
onsite, City of Ripon Public Works does not need a TPID number. I was informed by the mechanics onsite that the
vehicles are taken offsite to Les Schwab and Swier Tire for tire service. If the facility begins performing tire service
onsite resulting in the generation of junk tires onsite, then a TPID number will be needed.
If you need to obtain a TPID number in the future you can call CalRecycle at 1-866-896-0600. There is no cost to obtain a
TPID number.
If you have any questions or concerns you can respond to this email or call me at 209-468-3284.
Thanks,
Harprit S. Dave stated that a single trailer is brought out to the site. Once City of Ripon is done filling the trailer, it is
hauled to Lovelace Transfer Station where it remains until it has been completely filled with waste tires. Once the trailer
is full at Lovelace, then Golden By-Products hauls the trailer away and leaves a manifest. The error on the County Public
Work's part was that the tires need to be manifested when leaving 1210 S.Vera Ave as well as when leaving Lovelace
Transfer Station. I recall you stating that a record is kept of the amount of tires from City of Ripon that go into the
trailer. Can you please provide me with the tire counts for the cleanup done this year as well as any previous years that
you have on file?
Thanks,
