0 <br />LIMITED PHASE II ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT WORK PLAN <br />IN -SHAPE HEALTH CLUB <br />239 WEST 11TH STREET <br />TRACY, CALIFORNIA <br />PROJECT NO. 2E-1108004 <br />1. INTRODUCTION <br />1.1. Objective and Purpose <br />Giles Engineering Associates, Inc. (Giles) has prepared this Limited Phase II Site <br />Assessment Workplan (work plan) on behalf of In -Shape Health Clubs. (In -Shape), for the <br />In -Shape Health Club property (herein referred to as the "Site), located at 239 West 11th <br />Street, in the City of Tracy, San Joaquin County, California. A Limited Phase II <br />Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) will be performed to evaluate the presence, nature, <br />and potential magnitude of soil and groundwater impact. <br />The proposed scope of services described in this work plan include the completion of soil <br />borings and temporary wells on the subject property to determine if any soil and/or <br />groundwater impacts exist from the former use of the property as an auto repair shop, <br />and/or the former presence of off -Site gasoline stations located south of the subject <br />property. <br />Upon completion of the scope of services presented in the work plan, the Limited Phase 11 <br />ESA results and Giles' conclusions and recommendations will be presented in a Limited <br />Phase 11 ESA Report. The Limited Phase II ESA Report will be submitted to In -Shape, and <br />the San Joaquin County EHD. If time -critical reporting, communication, or interim response <br />measures are required, this information will be verbally provided to In -Shape once data is <br />received, reviewed, and verified. Important Information regarding this geoenvironmental <br />report is included in Appendix A. <br />1.2. Site Location and Setting <br />The Site consists of an L-shaped, 43,800 sq. ft., single parcel located at 239 West 11" <br />Street, in the City of Tracy, San Joaquin County, California. The southwest portion of the <br />Site was formerly utilized as auto sales and service from 1926 to 1960, and a grocery store <br />from 1961 to 1991, when In -Shape Health Club acquired the property. Figure 1 illustrates <br />the location of the Site. <br />The Site is operated as an In -Shape Health Club.
