EHD recommended that these two CPT borings be
advanced to approximately 200 feet below surface grade (bsg) to identify and sample
permeable zones most likely to facilitate migration of impacted groundwater toward the
municipal wells under the well's pumping influences. This information would be used to
identify the best locations and screening zones for the two groundwater monitoring wells
proposed by Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE).
To date, EHD has not received this work plan, nor has EHD received any quarterly
monitoring well reports since Quarterly Report-First Quarter 2004, dated June 28, 2004,
was received on July 6, 2004. Also, laboratory analytical results are not being
electronically submitted to Geotracker — the State Water Resources Control Board
database program.
As a responsible party, you are directed to submit a work plan to EHD by May 27, 2005,
for the advancement of the two CPT borings, or for an effective alternate method to meet
the assessment directive. To remain in regulatory compliance, EHD also directs that you
continue to have quarterly groundwater monitoring performed according to Section 2652
(d) of the California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 16. Notify Vicki
McCartney of EHD at least forty-eight hours prior to -any fieldwork. Also, electronic
transmission of laboratory analytical results to Geotracker must be initiated immediately.
