I <br />' 04 August 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 97-0300 <br />' Page 7 of 10 <br />' 33 LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Each ground water sample was logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed In a chilled container and <br />' transported to a DHS-certified laboratory for analysis for <br /> • TPH-g and TPH-d by EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br />' • BTEX and MTBE by EPA Method 8020, and <br /> • Methanol, ethanol, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, EDB, 1,2-DCA and MTBE by EPA Method <br />' 8260 Modified <br /> 34 FINDINGS <br /> Ground water elevation, flow direction and gradient were determined from field data collected on <br /> 16 June 2000, laboratory analysis of three ground water samples detected TPH-d and MTBE in one <br /> sample <br /> 3 4 1 RELATIVE GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT <br /> The depths to ground water in wells MW-I, MW-2 and MW-3 were measured between 39 20 and <br /> 42 70 feet below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevations at the site were calculated to <br /> Ibe between 24 95 feet and 26 12 feet below mean sea level, ground water elevations are depicted in <br /> Figure 9 Ground water elevations at the site decreased an average 1 02 feet between the 09 June <br /> I 2000 well development activities and the 16 June 2000 ground water monitoring event On 09 June <br /> 2000, the general ground water gradient at the site was calculated to be approximately 0 01 fl/ft or <br /> approximately 53 feet per mile and directed towards the southeast (Figure 8), on 16 June 2000, the <br /> I general gradient was calculated to be approximately 0 02 ft/ft and directed towards the north(Figure <br /> 9) <br /> I3 4 2 LABORATORY RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> TPH-d was detected In the water sample collected from well MW-1 at a concentration of 68 gg/1, <br /> the laboratory reported the sample chromatogram as having significant diesel range compounds <br /> MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8260 in the water sample collected from well MW-1 at a <br /> concentration of 2 gg/l <br /> Advanced GeoEnVLron mental,Inc <br /> I <br />
