INTRODUCTION <br />' In accordance with the request of Mr David Atwater of Van De Pol Enterprises, Inc , Advanced <br /> GeoEnvn-onmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> (PIER) for 3230 North West Lane (the site), Stockton, California The scope of work included <br />' advancement of six soil probe borings and collection and analysis of soil samples The location of <br /> the site and its surroundings are illustrated on Figure 1, soil probe boring locations are illustrated on <br /> Figure 2 <br />' <br /> This investigation was performed in accordance with the guidelines of the San Joaquin County <br />' Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and of the Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sates <br /> 20. BACKGROUND <br />' . In February 1999, three USTs and associated fuel dispensers and product piping were removed from <br /> the site Based on field observations and analytical results of soil samples collected during the tank <br /> removals, the PHS-EHD directed by letter that a subsurface investigation be performed at the site <br />' to delineate the vertical and honzontal extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impact In accordance with <br /> PHS-EHD directives, procedures for a subsurface investigation were outlined in the Site <br /> Inwsngation Work Plan, dated 30 July 1999 and approved by the PHS-EHD by letter on 06 August <br /> 1999 <br />' 2 1 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br />' The site is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of West Lane and Alpine Avenue The <br /> site is located in a topographically flat area at an elevation between 15 and 20 feet above mean sea <br /> level in Stockton, California(Figure 1) The site is In the northwest quarter of Section 30, Township <br />' 2 North, Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (Stockton West Quadrangle, 7 5-Minute <br /> USGS Topographic Series, 1968, photo revised 1987) <br />' The site is currently vacant, the site was previously operated as a card-lock fueling station One <br /> 10,000-gallon diesel UST, two 10,000-gallon gasoline USTs, dispensers and one structure were <br /> formerly located on the property <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
