6.2 PUMP TEST PROCEDURES
_ A 1.20 hour, 5 day, pump test will be conducted as Follows:
RECOVERY WELL MW-3
BORING DIAMETER 0.83 FEET
BORING DEPTH 65 FEET BELOW THE SURFACE
CASING DIAMETER 4 INCH
SLOT INTERVAL 35 FEET TO 65 FEET BFLOW THE SURFACE
SLOT SIZE 0.020 INCH
SAND PACK TYPE #3 MONTEREY SAND
AVERAGE WATER DEPTH 53FEET BET JMWTHEMWURFACE, l4W7, NWB,
OBSERVATION WELLS
MW9 & MW10
Prior to pumping, depth to ground water measurements will be !
obtained from all monitor wells. Then, pressure transducers
will be placed in monitor wells HW 4, MW8, and NW10 near the 65
s
foot depth and hooked to a recorder that registers differences in
head,
hydraulic to a 0.01 foot accuracy, over time on a data
logger. A pump rate of 2000 gallons/day (1.4 gallons/minute) will
be maintained during the pump test on monitor well MW-3. The
pump, a pneumatic type, will be powered by the RSI S.A.V.E. unit.
It will pump the ground water into a 4000 gallon polytank. The
RSI S.A.V.E. unit will then pump and treat the ground water from
the polytank and deliver it to a 21 >000 gallon
fracan
for ;
storage. Depth to ground water measurem.nts will be taken on ;
(" all the wells without the transduces every hour during the first
five hours of the pump test and tilts daily for the duration of
the test. Once pumping has cessfd; the recovery rates for
f
all the monitor wells will be recorded using the transducers and
or depth to water -cbes as mentioned above. From this data,
time drawdown curves will to plotted £ hSe observation
forunconfined
Using time and distance drawdown type
curves
aquifer, WEGE will calculate transmissivity and storage
?
coefficient values. A ground water modeling program will use i
these values to determine the recovery rate and wells needed to
capture the contaminant plume.
7.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY
This site is being treated as a class D site, and normal common
sense is to be used (see Appendix.
