1386 EAST BEAMER STREET <br /> wEGE ESTERN WOODLAND, CA 95776-6003 <br /> GEO--ENGINEERS FAX (916) 662.0273 <br /> CALIF CONTRACTOR # 513857 A CORPORATION (916) 668-5300 <br /> REGISTERED GEOLOGISTS <br /> Mr Larry Williams December 26, 1996 <br /> Senior Environmental Control Officer <br /> City of Stockton <br /> Dept of Municipal Utilities <br /> 2500 Navy Drive <br /> Stockton, CA 95206 <br /> (209) 944-8722 <br /> RE Wastewater Discharge Permit UPDATE #23 for Wickland <br /> Properties site R603 , located at 6425 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, <br /> California <br /> Dear Mr Williams . <br /> The following letter is the Update Status Report concerning the <br /> above wastewater discharge permit <br /> SPILL PREVENTION PLAN <br /> As required by the Wastewater Discharge Permit for this site, a <br /> spill prevention plan has been prepared <br /> The waste stream is treated groundwater condensate, produced from <br /> the vapor extraction of monitor wells MW1, MW2, MW3 , and MW10, <br /> and the purged water produced during the quarterly ground water <br /> sampling of all the wells associated with this site and Wickland <br /> site R604, located at 1448 N E1 Dorado Street, Stockton, <br /> California <br /> Lawrence Tank Testing' s (LTT) vacuum pump service uses their <br /> vacuum pump to pull the water from the wells, through dedicated <br /> one inch Sch 40 PVC pipe, into a 100 gallon stainless steel tank. <br /> This water is then transferred to the "ConVault" for treatment by <br /> "tank aeration" , with the vapor destruction accomplished using <br /> air stripping with activated carbon adsorbtion. The carbon is <br /> also concurrently destroying vapor being pulled from the soil . <br /> LTT has, for the time being, stopped (August, 1993) purging <br /> monitor wells MW1, MW2 , MW3 , MW8 and MW10 We are still placing <br /> the condensate water produced from the vapor extraction system <br /> into the "ConVault" for vacuum stripping treatment <br /> If evaluations indicate that a continuous groundwater pumping <br /> system is needed, selected wells will be connected to the <br /> "ConVault" treatment system. <br /> Groundwater recovery lines, from the wells to the treatment <br /> compound, will be 3/8" nylon tubing inside buried 3 " PVC pipe, <br /> for double containment considerations. <br /> The groundwater recovery lines will be plumbed to an above ground <br /> polyethylene sediment trap The contaminated groundwater is <br />
