• <br /> January 5, 1991 <br /> Mr John Margowski <br /> Environmental Director <br /> Wickland Properties <br /> 1765 Challenge Way <br /> Sacramento, CA 95815 <br /> (916) 921-1100 <br /> RE Source Test for vapor extraction, former Regal Station 603 <br /> (EXXON) , 6425 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Margowski <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> This letter documents the scheduled start up of the source test <br /> for vapor extraction into activated charcoal at the above <br /> mentioned site <br /> PILOT TEST <br /> Gasoline range hydrocarbons are known to exist beneath the <br /> undergound storage tanks area The tank excavation was <br /> overexcavated to the 26 foot depth On January 3, 1991 , <br /> activated charcoal in two 85 gallon tub scrubs were delivered to <br /> the site, and on December 27-28, 1990, monitor well MW10 was <br /> manifolded to the treatment area The blower will be installed on <br /> January 7, 1991 , at which time the test will begin <br /> TEST PROCEDURES <br /> The test will proceed for a duration of one week or until break <br /> through, which ever occurs first Vapor extraction wells EX1, EX2 <br /> and MW10 will be connected to a vacuum system (1SP Rotron Blower) <br /> LnaL exiiaust5 illto two 85 gallon activated charcoal tub S�ru$S <br /> Sample ports will be installed at each well to obtain samples, <br /> vacuum and temperature readings, at the influent of the blower for <br /> samples, vacuum and temperature monitoring and at the exhaust of <br /> the blower for pressure and temperature monitoring A sample port <br /> will also be located on Lne exhaust of Lne cnarcual tub &Crumb fur <br /> samples, pressure and temperature readings The exhaust of the <br /> • tub scrubs will be checked on alternate days for breakthrough <br /> using a hand held photolonizing detector (PID) that has been <br /> calibrated to 50 ppm Isobutylene in air Once breakthrough occurs <br />
