Contractor(Grettler-Ryan)to remove dispensers and blow back product lines to ust's. <br /> 2. Contractor to schedule pump out of recoverable product. <br /> 3. Tailgate safety meeting at jobsite discussing site-specific concerns and work procedures before work commences. <br /> 4- Flush product piping back into tanks,disconnect product piping from tanks. <br /> S. Remove turbines,risers and non-essential hardware to gain access to tanks. <br /> 6. Introduce the vacuum truck hose into the tank to start pumping out remaining product. <br /> 7. Once residual product has been removed from the tank,cleaning will commence using high pressure washing <br /> equipment and various length wands to properly access the tank interior,washing will continue using water and <br /> cleaning solution until the atmosphere of the tank attains a reading of 01%LEL and all tank bottom sludge and scale has <br /> been removed. <br /> 8. All tank cleaning rinsate will be pumped out of the tank and be profiled and disposed of in accordance with,U.S. Code <br /> of Federal Regulations(CPR)Title 40,Parts 260-279 and CCR Title 22,Div,4,Chapter 30 and shipped using a <br /> Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest to DeMenno/Kerdoon 2000 N.alameda St.,Compton,CA EPA ID# <br /> CAT080013352. <br /> 9. Tanks will be inerted using Dry Ice at the rate of 15Ibs.per 1000 gallons of tank capacity. <br /> 10. Tank bungs will be sealed and the tanks allowed to vent through the existing vent lines, <br /> 11- Contractor to remove concrete slab and overburden <br /> 12- Reclean tanks if necessary,pump out Brine Water and check Interstitial Space for LEL readings. <br /> --� 13. Upon approval of the Local Fire Dept.and County Environmental health Dept.access holes may be cold cut into the <br /> tank using the following procedure. <br /> a. Tank has been properly cleaned until 0%LEL is achieved and maintained without ventilation_ <br /> b. Adjacent tanks are isolated and migrant vapors controlled. <br /> c. A pneumatic rivet buster will be used to cold cut the hole in the tank. <br /> 14. Demonstrate 0%LEL to County Health and Fire Dept. officials. <br /> 15. Inert tanks with Dry Ice 151bs/l000gai. <br /> 16. Contractor to sign Hazardous Waste Tank Closure Certification(CUPA Form UPCF HWF1249). <br /> 17. Under the authorization of the Fire Dept.and or County Environmental Health Inspector the tank(s)may then be <br /> removed from the excavation and placed on a flatbed truck for transportation to and disposal at Vasco Road Landfill <br /> 4001 N. Vasco Road,Livermore,CA. <br /> 18. Tanks will be transported using a Non-Hazardous Waste Data Form,data form number will be painted on each tank <br /> 19. The disposal facility will issue a Certificate of Destruction for the tank. <br /> The following guidelines published by the American Petroleum institute(API)are used in training and practice and <br /> can be furnished upon request- <br /> APT 2219: Safe Operation of Vacuum Trucks in Petroleum Service. <br /> 2015:Safe Entry and Cleaning of Petroleum Storage Tanks- <br /> API 1604:Closure of Underground Petroleum Storage Tanks. <br /> rla/RLA <br />
